ACCELERATED VALUE CHAIN DEVELOPMENT (AVCD) PROGRAM
'O've'rvie'w The Feed the Future Kenya Accelerated Value Chain Development program seeks to widely apply technologies and innovations for selected value chains in order to competitively and sustainably increase productivity, contributing to inclusive agricultural growth, nutrition and food security in the country. The program’s main goal is to sustainably reduce poverty and hunger in the Feed the Future zones of influence in Kenya. Focusing on the livestock, dairy, staple crops root crops and staple drought tolerant crops value chains in 21 counties in Kenya, the program aims to lift 326,000 households out of poverty, making them farming

AVCD Communications Plan
Goal
To focus attention on the technological and innovation support provided to Kenyans through the AVCD program activities to improve agricultural growth, food security and improved nutrition status.
Objectives
- Demonstrate increased adaptation of technologies and innovations interventions by targeted Kenyan farmers and livestock keepers through AVCD (outcome)
- Document that AVCD is achieving results that have a measurable impact on Kenya’s development (outputs)
- Document that AVCD is using its comparative advantage in applying science, technology, research and the use of country partners to bring faster, more cost-effective and sustainable results in development (outputs)
